No, you are wrong, my systems are fine, but this package is broken. You are building with tests disabled, but i have tests enabled. When i disabled tests, there are no static libs installed for libssh.

Current fix is not valid: http://sources.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/gentoo-x86/net-libs/libssh/libssh-0.5.5.ebuild?r1=1.5&r2=1.6 'rm -f "${D}"/usr/lib64/libssh{,_threads}.a' will not work for x86 and a lot other arches. Look at qgrep -N 'use static-libs || rm' It is better to use use static-libs || rm -f "${ED}"/usr/$(get_libdir)/*.a
