During a system upgrade, dev-qt/pixeltool got pulled in as a new package. During it's install, portage found a conflict between it and (then old version of) qthelp. The error message is: * Messages for package dev-qt/pixeltool-4.8.5: * This package will overwrite one or more files that may belong to other * packages (see list below). You can use a command such as `portageq * owners / <filename>` to identify the installed package that owns a * file. Reproducible: Always I have qt-meta installed on this system (as I want the full Qt installed for other development purposes). Due to this I have qt 4.8.5 unmasked. emerge --info: Portage 2.1.12.2 (default/linux/amd64/13.0/desktop/kde, gcc-4.7.3, glibc-2.15-r3, 3.10.7-gentoo x86_64) Right, we need a blocker. This case is different from the other newly-split applications, because pixeltool does not depend on qthelp, therefore the former may be scheduled for merge before updating the latter to 4.8.5, leading to the reported collision. Adding "!<dev-qt/qthelp-4.8.5:4" in pixeltool should be enough, right? BTW, now I'm curious about which package pulled in pixeltool... only qt-meta should depend on it...
(In reply to Davide Pesavento from comment #1) > BTW, now I'm curious about which package pulled in pixeltool... only qt-meta > should depend on it... As I originally mentioned, the system on which this happened has qt-meta installed, as I want all of Qt to be installed. I double checked, and no other package on the system depends upon pixeltool.
Fixed in cvs. Thank you!
