I did a system update yesterday to my ~amd64 laptop and the new KDE SC-4.11.0 brought in a dependency for net-misc/freedrp into the emerge queue. Last week I had unmasked and updated to ffmpeg-2.0 when I noticed that none of the effected packages still in the bug tracker were installed on my system. During the kde update net-misc/freerdp-1.1.0_beta1_p20130710 failed to build. I tried several different older versions, but they all failed too. Reading through the build logs I noticed the error was in a module involving ffmpeg. So I issued 'USE="-ffmpeg" emerge -1 freerdp' and the latest freerdp-1.1.0_beta1_p20130710 built as expected without it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.emerge -1 freerdp 2. 3. Created attachment 363856 [details, diff] ffmpeg21.patch With the attached patches (taken directly from upstream master, see https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/pull/1610) applied, 1.1.0_beta1_p20130710 builds and passes tests with media-video/ffmpeg-2.1 on an otherwise fairly vanilla ~amd64 system.
Thanks for the patch. I will try it out and report back right away. I do have one comment to whoever has been assigned this bug, why is this still being listed as "unconfirmed" when it's been recognized upstream, and here in our bugzilla it's listed as a "blocker" for "ffmpeg-2.0.x". Am I the only one who thinks this doesn't make any sense?
