I get the same failure message when trying to update udev to udev-204 after a sync. It may be related to the latest update of the ebuild as recorded in the Changelog today:

 26 Jul 2013; Samuli Suominen <ssuominen@gentoo.org> udev-204.ebuild:
  m68k stable wrt #470580

Perhaps somehow the Changelog got edited after the Manifest was built.
