Please don't stabilise this yet. 4.0 revealed a bug in Skype due to some latency handling changes. Need to sort out a fix for this. Skype upstream is still working on a proper fix, but perhaps we can ship Skype's .desktop file with PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=40 in env to work around this.

I've pushed a fix for this to the Skype ebuild, so no reason to not proceed any more.

Excuse me, but there are still unresolved bugs against pulseaudio-4.0. Are there any plans to fix them? For example, this one 
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447694 is almost one year old and without any attention from devs so far.
