I have parted since ages in my local overlay to use more current automake. No problems with automake-1.13 or 1.14 so far.

Fixed in all remaining ebuilds (how many do we keep for safety?) without a revision bump.

If now there is intention to fix these bugs, I will perhaps file some for docbook2X, openrdate, and recode which I have in my overlay for similar reasons (though recode requires a patch).
