The following license changes are necessary to proceed:
 (see "package.license" in the portage(5) man page for more details)

# required by @world (argument)
>=app-arch/unrar-5.0.7 unRAR

This makes installation of winetricks impossible for users who only accept free software licenses.

The purpose of winetricks is to allow users to download proprietary, binary DLLs that distros cannot legally distribute.

Please explain why someone who only uses free software licenses would wish to install app-emulation/winetricks.

You have a point, but OTOH it doesn't concern us as a distro for what purposes the software is used.

Can't unrar be pulled with USE="rar" only?

It seems that unrar is needed only for unpacking certain game demos, not for the main winetricks functionality, so this is a good solution.
