According to the upstream new version has been released with several fixes to the security problems "For those of you sticking to the release version, we recommend to update to 1.1.1 to avoid security issues". I am not sure as of what exactly got fixed was it something in mplayer code itself or that with bundled ffmpeg 0.11 which was upgraded witihn. If the first is the case than upgrade is needed, if other than Gentoo uses system ffmpeg by default IIRC. Anyway IMHO version update should be worth taking a look at. Regards, WM Reproducible: Always
