PORTAGE_RSYNC_EXTRA_OPTS, USE_PYTHON Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install ibus-anthy and ibus 2. try to use ibus-anthy 3. see how you cant use it because it doesnt work Actual Results: Anthy doesnt come up in the list of input methods in ibus, also the manual starting ist not possible
The main problem is that The Input Method "anthy" doesnt show up in ibus my idea is that it is python3 related, but may not be. So i changed the title of the Bug-Report as the "real" problem is that Anthy doesnt show up in ibus
I checked again, it seems to be highly related to python3 Happens with ibus-anthy-1.5.0 $ ibus-daemon -n kde -x -r -v File "/usr/share/ibus-anthy/engine/main.py", line 132 print file.read() ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax
I know it is very very dirty but i just did the following opened /usr/libexec/ibus-setup-anthy and /usr/libexec/ibus-engine-anthy in nano --> changed python to python2 --> restarted ibus-daemon Now anthy _does_ show up and works fine, so its for sure related to python3 Sounds like an upstream bug, doesnt it?
Created attachment 346726 [details] forces python2 while compilation This ebuild works! yeah!
the current app-i18n/ibus-anthy-1.5.0 replaces python with python2 to fix this issue This doesnt help as upstream changed python to @PYTHON@ as they now use an environment variable to check what python version to use The attached ebuild removes the s/python/python2 and uses the PYTHON variable before econf works for me --> is it a fix?
I've just switched the python eclass to python-single-r1. This exports PYTHON variable properly. This should fix the issue.
