Hi, science overlay has an 7.20.4 version worth a look, buildsystem switched to cmake, upstream released an 7.20.6 version. version 7.22.0 is out too. Can I give you a hand? Michael
I added a 7.22.0 ebuild. I have trouble to get it build with tcl/tk-8.6, itcl/itk-4.0 I modified the svn ebuild to use bundled libraries as well. Thanks, Dongxu Li

7.24 versions available upstream
Since this version bump request was originally dated almost two years ago (less one week), and since Michael in the original request offered his assistance, I dear to ask my questions. This two year old bump request has survived a number of upstream releases without being actually successfully bumped in Gentoo. The request is still classified as CONFIRMED. Me, being nothing but a user, have difficulties to obtain any insight in any efforts being made, as well as any potential progress being made. Could someone please shed some light on this matter? Like: - I someone actively looking into it? - Is it the common opinion that we should have brlcad in the tree? (Before I spend too much efforts on getting up to speed on brlcad under Gentoo.) - What is the nature of the barriers hindering a version bump? - Is the contact with upstream constructive? - Are there any other future plans for brlcad in Gentoo that we, the users, should be aware of? I guess it all drills down to: - Does brlcad have any future under Gentoo? Please, realize that I'm putting down these questions to be able to make an informed decision about our using brlcad with Gentoo before us loosing too much time and energy before looking elsewhere. It is *not* my intention to nag someone. We just need to obtain the information about current status and foreseen future for brlcad in Gentoo and this seemed to be the right place, since this is where other users have tried to push brlcad forward.
