Description:   Opened: 2004-04-03 02:37 0000
This version of lame cannot create MP3 files from WAV files with a sampling
rate of 48khz (as found on DVDs). There is no problem with the typical 44.1khz
used on CDs. This problem doesn't occur with version 3.93.1.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. lame file.wav -o file.mp3
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Segfault

Expected Results:
Created an MP3

It seems that lame developers are aware and that it is fixed in cvs:

damn i never use 48khz... sorry for letting this slip into stable... I'll check
out getting that fix from cvs into a revbump.

I set the KEYWORDS back to ~arch... This is too big of a bug to let it be in
stable. I looked through that thread, and they don't mention how to patch
3.95.1 to get it to work... they just suggest using a different version (fixed
in cvs). Do you think you could look for a patch that fixes this or atleast
provide a good backtrace of the problem so I can narrow in on it?

lame-3.96 is in portage and includes the fix.
