This bump was done for fixing build with libav-9.4. Will check now how it builds with other libav and ffmpeg versions. Most likely virtual/ffmpeg dep will be raised and this version will be masked until new libav/ffmpeg are unmasked.
Done. It builds and works fine with libav-9.4, it fails to build with libav-0.8.5, ffmpeg-1.0.6, ffmpeg-1.1.4, ffmpeg-1.2. For now i suggest changing virtual/ffmpeg dep to >=media-video/libav-9.4 and masking this version. 2.17.3_pre743 builds with masked libav version fine, but does not work well: it is not possible to import any sound track in aegisub. There is upstream bug https://code.google.com/p/ffmpegsource/issues/detail?id=101 , let keep this bug open until upstream bug is fixed.

Then we need to update virtual, libav or ffmpeg ebuilds: now ffmpeg ebuilds have USE avresample, but libav do not.
libav always provides avresample.
aballier, what do you think about removing USE avresample from ffmpeg?

Now mplayer2 and mpv by default use and link to libavresample. The lib is small (118K) and does not require any deps. Do not know why anyone would want to disable it.

thinking more about it, I think you're right: enabling or disabling avresample, strictly speaking, changes the abi of the package; nothing that is not caught by revdep-rebuild/preserve-libs, but still not that nice IMHO, I'll always enable it.
Please change >=virtual/ffmpeg-0.9 to >=virtual/ffmpeg-9 in ffmpegsource-2.17.4_pre753.ebuild and ffmpegsource-9999.ebuild.
