Description Roman Žilka 2013-03-09 16:54:21 UTC
media-libs/alsa-lib-1.0.25-r1 on amd64:

QA: prepare
epunt_cxx called unnecessarily (no C++ checks to punt).

Furthermore, postinst prints this:

Please try in-kernel ALSA drivers instead of the alsa-driver ebuild.
If alsa-driver works for you where a *recent* kernel does not, we want
to know about this. Our e-mail address is alsa-bugs@gentoo.org
However, if you notice no sound output or instability, please try to
upgrade your kernel to a newer version first.

There is no alsa-driver package anymore. Also, if it was merged with another one, the message should be printed by that package, not alsa-lib. I guess most people with a soundcard have alsa-lib and alsa-headers, but not the driver package.

Reproducible: Always

Same as with sysfsutils, when eautoreconf'd with new autoconf, epunt_cxx becomes useless, commented it out from the ebuild
And removed the postinst message, which was actually already removed from ~arch version
