When building net-libs/h323plus against net-libs/ptlib-2.10.9 (same with 2.10.10), I noticed that ldd -r complains about an undefined symbol:

# ldd -r /usr/lib/libh323_linux_x86_64_n.so
undefined symbol: _ZN14PFactoryLoader22PWAVFileFormatPCM_linkEv (/usr/lib/libh323_linux_x86_64_n.so)

Packages which then try to build against h323plus will fail with

/usr/lib/libh323_linux_x86_64_n.so: undefined reference to `PFactoryLoader::PWAVFileFormatPCM_link()'

Investigating a little further, this seems to affect all software which contains #include <ptclib/pwavfile.h>, including ptlib's own alsa_pwplugin.so. It may be that somehow libpt.so does not export this symbol even though it should.

...or perhaps it's a case of too many useflags ?
Does h323plus build if ptlib[wav] ?

Indeed that made the problem go away.

For the alsa plugin this probably means that REQUIRED_USE="alsa? ( wav )" may need to be set, while h323plus and other packages need to depend on net-libs/ptlib[wav]
