It would be really helpful being able to apply user patches to the strongswan ebuild. Especially because of this patch:
http://git.strongswan.org/?p=strongswan.git;a=commitdiff;h=fa7aeb4c#patch1

It fixes a problem where the IP Adress pool is rapidly empty because of not correctly reassigning them to known hosts.
