the last change that added the --root patch in portage needs a revbump. this was accidentally forgotten, assigning to maintainers

to the reporter:

you can simply re-emerge latest eudev from tree to get this fixed now for yourself

Rev bumped.  -r1 is off the tree and replaced with -r2 which is identical.  Please reopen if there is sitll a problem.

I'm a bit confused -- what's the reason for this --root option?

It seems to be to provide a path to the hwdb files of sys-apps/hwids..  Does that mean hwids no longer installs the *.hwdb files to $udevdir/hwdb.d ??  Meaning that a user can't re-generate the hwdb.bin on their own anymore??

My understanding is that its because of prefixes.
