Please test and stabilize tesseract-3.02.  It has been in the tree for a while with only a trivial automake compatibility patch added recently.

Our current stable is vulnerable (bug 354143)!

Also needs an up-to-date:

media-libs/leptonica

Targets: alpha amd64 ppc ppc64 sparc x86  (those had a stable 2.* version, alpha needs to do bug 437670 first)

moving to -r1 which addresses QA issues.

Great but we will can't go ahead due to leptonica failure.
