Once I upgraded to gtk+-2.4.0, I noticed that my keyboard shortcuts (the ones set specifically within gnome-terminal) no longer work if the menubar is hidden. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Upgrade to gtk+-2.4.0 with gnome-terminal-2.4.2 2. Set a shortcut within gnome-terminal for a new tab to be <Shift><Control>t (Edit -> Keyboard Shortcuts...) 3. Right-click on gnome-terminal and select "Hide Menubar" (unless it's already hidden. 4. Press keyboard shortcut -- <Shift><Control>t -- NOTHING HAPPENS -- 5. Right-click on the gnome-terminal window and select "Show Menubar" 6. Press keyboard shortcut -- <Shift><Control>t -- NEW TAB OPENS -- Actual Results: Keyboard shortcut only works when menubar is visible Expected Results: Keyboard shortcuts work regardless of menubar visibility
known problem this is fixed in the 2.5 terminal, but i'm happy to put a patch in 2.4 to make it work if someone provides it. I assume a bug in g-t got exposed by the gtk2.4 internals.
A patch is now in place for gnome-terminal-2.4.2. As foser pointed out, this shouldn't be a problem with gnome-terminal-2.6. Thanks for your report.
