Since i've upgraded to 0.30.9 on my ~amd64 system, genlop doesn't display anything.
I can't say which was the previous version as 'genlop genlop' shows nothing ....
Here's a typical session:

orzel@berlioz /usr/src/linux% genlop chromium 
 * www-client/chromium

orzel@berlioz /usr/src/linux% genlop genlop

masking 0.30.9 "solves" my problem, i can now say which previous version i had that still worked:

Funny that my several years old genlop was still working while the very recent update broke it ;-)

Not sure how I missed this test case, workaround until I get it fixed is to do "genlop -e <pkg name>"

This is fixed in app-portage/genlop-0.30.9-r1.
