This package requires automake to compile otherwise configure phase fails.

Oh, so, you are talking about the issue that pavuk does not build without automake? Sorry, my fault, I put AUTOTOOLS_AUTORECONF in the wrong place, preventing the dependency from being automatically added. Please apply this patch on the ebuild, then the dependency should work correctly.
