bamtools bundles jsoncpp. I will unbundle it.
the headers should go to /usr/include/json-c and /usr/include/jsoncpp or similar.

Alphat-PC could you explain how to modify jsoncpp ebuild to let it emerge? Thanks
How about moving json-c away? It has pkg-config support and thus it is easier to deal with.
(In reply to comment #7) > How about moving json-c away? It has pkg-config support and thus it is > easier to deal with. See bug #454372 for a version bump to json-c-0.10 and patches including changing the header install directory to /usr/include/json-c and updating the pkg-config file to match.

Maybe it's better to change includes install path for jsoncpp to /usr/include/jsoncpp/json? Similiar to Debian/Ubuntu: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=650702 http://packages.debian.org/sid/i386/libjsoncpp-dev/filelist and ArchLinux: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/jsoncpp/
(In reply to comment #11) > Maybe it's better to change includes install path for jsoncpp to > /usr/include/jsoncpp/json? better is forcing packages to use pkg-config. Then they are independent from where ever things are.

I'll do necessary changes jsoncpp side (I will need some time for testing with chromium, that's the limiting factor). Agreed pkg-config for jsoncpp would be even better, they just don't ship it for now. I think consistency across distros is a good goal here. json-c is already covered by pkg-config, good that it works. Thanks for your work on this collision.
(In reply to comment #13) > Agreed, sorry I'm rather late here. I'll do necessary changes jsoncpp side > (I will need some time for testing with chromium, that's the limiting > factor). Done. I updated all reverse dependencies to require =jsoncpp-0.5.0, and the new version is 0.5.0-r1. I'll handle www-client/chromium. Justin (jlec), could you update bamtools to compile with jsoncpp-0.5.0-r1 and update the dependency? I recommend ">=dev-libs/jsoncpp-0.5.0-r1".
