Hi, A new version of devhelp was released a couple of days ago, so I blatantly ripped off the 0.8.1 ebuild, did some changes to it and made sure that it worked. So, in the hope that it will be useful I hereby attach the updated ebuild, even though I know you guys track these releases anyway... Best regards, /P

The ebuild goes on well, and this version of devhelp also fixes some crashes I was experiencing (and now it says if it doesn't find a file, instead of becoming unresponsive for some seconds). Can be safely included in portage, I think.
par, are you sure that --with-html-widget actually does anything? afaik, the thing fails if you don't have mozilla installed, seems like it would fail if it doesn't find mozilla.
You are right, Alastair. The ebuild fails if mozilla is not in USE. It seems as if the last line of the ebuild went missing in my proposed patch. However, according to ldd devhelp 0.9 seems to link against the mozilla rendering libs (libgtkembedmoz.so) regardless of the configure script arguments and consequently regardless of the mozilla USE flag. This is contrary to the README in the devhelp original tarball. However, a quick investigation of the configure.in script and the rest of the sources seems to indicate that support for gtkhtml2 has been removed(?). I'm afraid I did not investigate this deeply enough and I apopogize for my mistake. I'm not sure how to handle this. I suppose it either has to have a hard dependency on mozilla or a bug report should be sent to upstream. In the meantime, I guess the fix would be to remove the mozilla conditionals from the ebuild and make it a hard dependency?

It works fine here, just change the HOMEPAGE ebuild variable to HOMEPAGE="http://www.imendio.com/projects/devhelp/"
Any hope to see this in portage? It's about three months from devhelp 0.9 release.
yeah it's a shame, i sort of thought it was already in. added now, didn't use any of the widget stuff -> doesn't seem to be needed.
