When I play certain games using Wine, the mouse behaves erratically. It moves in a slow jerky motion and is quite hard to control. I first suspected this bug: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30057 but it seems I have xinput2 compiled. Next was this one: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46976 In fact if I run the program in comment 4 (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46976#c4) I get different values for raw and valuator. They're the same if I move the mouse very slowly, but normal mouse movements lead to different values. The patch linked to in that bug report seems to have been applied in xorg-server. Anyway, hoping you can help me figure this out. The game had been working prior to a recent reboot. So to be clear, this problem exists with xorg-server-1.11, 1.12 and 1.13?
It's not working on 1.13.0. The prior xorg-server it DID work on is either 1.12.4 or 1.12.2 (don't know which, just going off of my emerge history and the fact I didn't reboot in about 4 months, although occasionally I did restart X). So I don't want to claim it doesn't work for all xorg-servers 1.11 or greater, unless as part of the debug you want me to downgrade and retry. I suppose it could be a combination of factors, or perhaps some other package altogether causing it. I'm looking for ways to debug this...
There is not enough information to diagnose this issue. Please try downgrading or upgrading Xorg or adjusting the mouse acceleration settings in xinput.
