Description Alexander Berntsen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-12-27 20:06:43 UTC
The package has no local description for its bindist USE-flag. This leaves the end-user guessing at what is specifically done. This is *bad*. Users who care enough about licensing and distribution etc. will probably want to know what is specifically going on. For a good example of how to do this, see www-client/firefox.

Anyone know what's wrong with upstream's tarball, and why we repack it?

We remove the svga's, smaller size of tarball.

And why exactly do we use the bindist flag for that?

Because technically the svg's are the "sources" for the bitmap icons. If you want to redistribute, you need to redistribute the sources as well...

Fixed.
