Sorry for creating duplicates, but what's preventing gentoo from introducing the new version to the portage tree? I think this bug lacks a little support.
Thanks!

It's because proaudio team is needed of man power and doesn't have enough time to maintain ardour actively :/. Would be nice to find a maintainer for it, maybe proxy maintainer could be an option:
http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/qa/proxy-maintainers/index.xml

or even try to become a full gentoo developer to help with this and others ;)

I just bumped the ebuild and had to adjust a patch slightly.
Please be aware that it might take some time to appear on the mirrors...
Have fun!

I was going to bump this a long time ago but ran into bug #425578 which nativemad didn't even fix.

So in the future if you want things to happen faster, attach patches to fix similar issues especially for packages like ardour that have lots of system libraries bundled that have to be checked for and removed. Basically the bumps for these types of packages are rarely trivial.
