I tried today, but noticed that this version of facter has broken tests. Not yet reported upstream.
Upstream has released facter-1.6.14 yesterday and it is already included in their stable repositories (eg. for deb-based distros). I'd target that for immediate inclusion in portage and possibly fast stabilization.
facter 1.6.14 passes tests so I've just added it to the tree.
