HTTPie [1] is a command line HTTP client. Its goal is to make CLI interaction with web services as human-friendly as possible. It provides a simple http command that allows for sending arbitrary HTTP requests using a simple and natural syntax, and displays colorized responses. HTTPie can be used for testing, debugging, and generally interacting with HTTP servers.

There's currently an ebuild for net-misc/httpie-0.2.6 in the laurentb's overlay [2], and it works for me.

I'd like to request that it be added to the main tree if possible (though perhaps as www-client/httpie since it is HTTP-specific).

Done. net-misc/httpie-0.3.0 added in cvs.
