The 1.0.2 ebuild doesn't install the sample spec files, or the necessary default runscript, or the sample archscripts, or indeed any files beyond the stage targets and the program itself. I've had to fall back to 1.0.1-r1. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

as much as bug reports are wonderful, catalyst is a new product specifically aimed at people that don't mind reading the docs to figure out how to create their own spec files. please add comments in regards to which versions the specific bug you're complaining about exists in to cut down dev load? I'll submit some sample specs for you shortly.

John, please close this bug, he's got the beginnings of what he needs to USE catalyst, we can put this off for just a little bit imho. Here's the files I promised in a pretty tar.bz2 + md5 Jay, please remember, catalyst doesn't have the dev base portage does, and as it's new software, please understand that not all the kinks have been worked out yet.
1) I've mentioned the version (1.0.2) in the bug title. There was another bug for a similar problem in 1.0.1-r1, and yet another for 1.0.1 (which I didn't submit). 2) I can use catalyst for building the system. The problem is that, even if I have written specfiles, supplied an archscript, and a few other things, without the default-runscript.sh file, the package is useless beyond stage3. 3) The documentation, at least the version on the website, says that the distribution contains plenty of samples to get the user going. 4) If the idea is not to ship all the sample files used to build Gentoo with the tool, then perhaps a companion package can be provided with the files, so that, together, the Gentoo distribution can be rebuilt by the user. 5) Yes, I understand that the dev base isn't there yet. I'm probably the first to try to use it to develop a Gentoo distribution for the Alpha so that it can continue to be included in the Gentoo project. I got there for 1.4, and would really like to see it happen for 2004.0 - which is why I'm working on it.
actually, this was a bug in the catalyst ebuild. I version bumped to fix this. please emerge catalyst-1.0.3. Thanks.
