Created attachment 324172 [details] build log net-misc/mediatomb-0.12.1-r2 fails during configure with USE="libextractor". checking extractor.h usability... yes checking extractor.h presence... yes checking for extractor.h... yes checking for EXTRACTOR_getKeywords in -lextractor... no checking for EXTRACTOR_getKeywords in -lextractor... no configure: error: unable to configure libextractor support To reproduce this error you need to build MediaTomb with USE="libextractor -ffmpeg -thumbnail". The ebuild will disable libextractor support if you try to build with the "ffmpeg" or "thumbnail" USE flags enabled. This issue appears to be an API breakage caused by libextractor 0.6.0[1]. Unfortunately this is somewhat non-maintained package as per http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423991#c5
I have successfully compiled Mediatomb few days ago. Installed versions: 0.12.1-r2{tbz2}(15:47:50 23.09.2012)(exif ffmpeg inotify javascript lastfm libextractor mp4 mysql taglib thumbnail -debug) And it works perfectly. I don't understand why Samuli Suominen plans removal in 30 days this popular package from portage. Sorry for the terrible English.
should be all set now in the tree; thanks for the report! Commit message: Port to libextractor-0.6.x by me http://sources.gentoo.org/net-misc/mediatomb/files/mediatomb-0.12.1-libextractor.patch?rev=1.1 http://sources.gentoo.org/net-misc/mediatomb/mediatomb-0.12.1-r3.ebuild?r1=1.1&r2=1.2
