emerge --info scummvm

games-engines/scummvm-1.5.0 and, from the looks of it, earlier versions, have no use for media-libs/libmpeg2:

- various files in the sources mention the removal of MPEG2 / libmpeg2 support
- the scummvm 1.5.0 binaries, when compiled with or without libmpeg2 present, are  exactly the same
- readelf -d /usr/games/bin/scummvm does not show a libmpeg2 NEEDED line when libmpeg2 is present and scummvm subsequently installed

So I am asking for the removal of media-libs/libmpeg2 from the (R)DEPEND entries of the scummvm 1.5.0 ebuild.
