Created attachment 322900 [details] The modified ebuild, and its associated patches I'd like to see sci-geosciences/mapnik upgraded to 2.1. Please see an attempt at a modified ebuild for this new version, attached. This ebuild installs, and runs the mapnik demo successfully.
Created attachment 324564 [details, diff] Diff from mapnik-2.0.1.ebuild to mapnik-2.1.0.ebuild The submitted ebuild didnt work for me. mapnik tries to run ldconfig during the install phase which causes a sandbox violation. Additionally I found the ChangeLog in the submitted tarball had been improperly modified. I have repackaged the submitted ebuild, and associated packages to comply with the submission guidelines, and added my own patch to prevent mapnik running ldconfig. Attached is a diff from the previous mapnik-2.0.1.ebuild and the 4 patches required for mapnik-2.1.0

Created attachment 324710 [details] Diff from mapnik-2.0.1.ebuild to mapnik-2.1.0.ebuild V2 I updated the 2.1 ebuild diff to add sci-geosciences/mapnik-world-boundaries as a dependancy since mapnik requires the files provided by that package. Presently, the mapnik-world-boundaries ebuild does not provide all of the files required, so I versioned it to the ebuild I attached to bug 279046 which does provide them. Once world-boundaries has been bumped, that version should become the dependency. You could still use the original atachment (324564) until bug 279046 is resolved. I've been using both eubuilds in recent days to build mapnik and related tools, and thought I should contribute them here.
