It was just introduced to the tree, but 0.8 is stable and breaks most of the gtk sharp modules, see bug 426590, which is not only limited to gtk-dotnet-sharp. So I'd suggest a fast-stable for 0.8.2, which includes the fix.

I've tested it pretty extensively and upstream says we should go for it so let's do it. It will definitely have less bugs than current stable so.....

Changing to stabilising 0.8.4 and re-adding all arches. It appears that 0.8.4 should fix ALL pkg-config compatibility issues.

not really true, like bug 428500 where it fails with simple version comparison

(but true, it's not a regression, so go ahead and move on with the stabilization)

"equery d virtual/pkgconfig | awk '{print $1}' | sed 's@^@=@' | xargs emerge -1"
w/o any problems (last patience before completion tbh, I guess it's fine).
