Description noursferoce 2012-06-14 15:04:12 UTC
When I try to use some inkscape extensions like markers_strokepaint.py or param_curves.py, an error box is raised containing the following message :

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "markers_strokepaint.py", line 19, in <module>
    import random, inkex, simplestyle, copy
  File "/usr/share/inkscape/extensions/inkex.py", line 29
    u'sodipodi' :u'http://sodipodi.sourceforge.net/DTD/sodipodi-0.dtd',
              ^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax

The syntax error raised doesn't depend on the called extension.

Reproductible : Always.

Steps :
1. Install inkscape.
2. Draw a line ended with an arrow.
3. Try to use strokepaint extension.

This bug seems to desapear when switching to python 2 via eselect.

Is it possible to force inkscape to use python2 ?

People on Archlinux have the same problemn (http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=12457) . Some inkscape extensions don't suppport python 3.

I attached the compilation file used by Archlinux. But I need some help to transpose it on a gentoo box.

Thanks.
