Hi, just came across this when trying to get an iPod Touch running on amarok GIT. The amarok devs changed kdelibs to use media-player-info only for iPod detection, so it should at least be a dependency with the ipod USE flag. For deeper understanding, follow this links: http://quickgit.kde.org/index.php?p=kdelibs.git&a=commit&h=3c1c788cc52e166278af2ed878e8a2f65874b1ac Reproducible: Always
Just to add, the dependency should be in kdelibs, because the actual code requiring media-player-info ends up in /usr/lib/libsolid.so
Thank you all. Fixed in cvs. + 09 Jul 2012; Johannes Huber <johu@gentoo.org> -kdelibs-4.8.4.ebuild, + kdelibs-4.8.4-r1.ebuild: + Add new optional runtime dependency on app-misc/media-player-info controlled + via udev useflag, wrt bug #417783.
