3.0 has been in tree for some time, and -r2 has some additional fixes (like a correct soname for the lib) llvm has a nice test suite also for you to confirm it was compiled ok :) Please test and mark stable =sys-devel/llvm-3.0-r2
It needs new binutils, please re add arches when 414865 is fixed
It would be great if you could stable media-libs/opengtl-0.9.16 at the same time as sys-devel/llvm-3.0-r2 (earlier opengtl versions need llvm-2*)
Just question, Why do you think it needs new binutils, when running on stable system I can install both llvm-3.0 and clang-3.0 and compile software without issues.

llvm itself only requires >=2.18, but the (optional) gold plugin requires 2.22. If binutils stabling takes too much time, we can quickly make a 3.1 without USE=gold for packages that neeed llvm-3.0
What's the status here?
No progress on binutils-2.22 stabilization, so nothing changed here. If llvm-3.0 is needed stable somewhere, I can push a version for stabilization without USE=gold (removing the depend on binutils-2.22)

Go?
Indeed, go! Arches, please test and mark stable sys-devel/llvm-3.0-r2 (amd64, ppc, x86). amd64/x86, please stable media-libs/opengtl-0.9.16 at the same time Thanks!
amd64 stable
llvm builds and runs tests fine on x86. Build and ran rdep mesa without a problem. opengtl fails tests, but is not a regression. Please mark stable for x86.
x86 done, Thanks Myckel!
Everything done except sys-devel/llvm-3.0-r2 on ppc, and stabling is now underway for 3.1-r2 in bug #443508. So I'm marking this one as done
