Another 3 months have passed, and the bug is still around.
Maybe dxr3 support should be disabled system wide and the package ditched?

I've done that in past, only to find our VDR developers rescuing the situation. Let's see if they are still intrested -> CCing vdr

when... and if, this is finally removed from tree, don't forget to prune also:

arch/amd64/use.mask:-dxr3
arch/x86/use.mask:-dxr3
base/use.mask:dxr3

and the current mask is missing the package that's actually broken:

media-video/em8300-modules

only em8300-libraries got masked, which is still o.k.
