this version has fixes for a major crash which prevented me from
a. using mono (even mcs --version was crashing)
b. upgrade to newly stable gmime

the fix is stated as:
Fix sgen failing with Assertion at sgen-gc.c:2506, condition `mono_sgen_need_bridge_processing ()' not met

just renaming the portage ebuild made it compile and install fine.

a gentoo x86 (with some ~x86 development packages) system. Mono was failing both on my desktop (p4) and on my notebook (Centrino 2)

and I tried several time re-compiling direct deps and the dev-lang/mono package itself. Mono compilation itself was failing with that same error
