Description:   Opened: 2002-06-25 07:03 0000
Please find attached udftools-1.0.0_beta2.ebuild.tar.gz which is an ebuild
script for udftools-1.0.0b2 which is best described by the following ...

<< BEGIN CUT FROM http://linux-udf.sourceforge.net >>

It's a newer CDROM filesystem standard that's required for DVD roms. It's
meant to be a replacement for the ISO9660 filesystem used on today's CDROMs, but
the immediate impact for most will be DVD. DVD multimedia cdroms use the UDF
filesystem to contain MPEG audio and video streams.

To access DVD cdroms you would need a DVD cdrom drive, the kernel driver for
the cdrom drive, some kind of MPEG video support, and a UDF filesystem driver
(like this one). See the Livid project for news and software for playing DVDs.
UDF can also be used by CD-R and CD-RW recorders in what's known as "packet
writing". By using "packet writing", CDs can be written to more efficiently, in
both disk space used, and the time it takes to write the CD. Adaptec's DirectCD
is a Win95/WinNT example of packet writing, using the UDF version 1.5 filesystem.

<< END CUT >>

I assumed that this will go in sys-apps/udftools as xfsprogs and reiserfsprogs
are in there. I'm not sure if this should be changed to udfprogs to fit in with
the others, but IMHO it would be confusing.

alternate ebuild with a different name

Foolishly, I made my own ebuild before looking for it in bugs. However, Marks
ebuild seems to have been languishing for a while, so I am submiting mine.
It is mostly the same, except all extraneous skel comments are gone, and I
dont doc README, NEWS, and INSTALL (the first two files seem to be empty)
Also, the name Mark chose seems to make my current emerge puke, so I
used 'udftools-1.0.0b.ebuild'
Dont care whos ebuild goes in, just hoping one does:)

------- Comment #5 From Joachim Blaabjerg 2002-08-12 10:58:25 0000 -------
Sorry this took so long, I just forgot about it.
I've lintool'ed, fixed and tested the last ebuild committed here (the one
written by Paul Thompson), and it should appear as sys-apps/udftools on rsync
servers within a couple of hours. Please test this, as it's masked. I'll close
the bug report when I've gotten a couple of successful test reports.
Thanks to both of you, Mark and Paul :)

------- Comment #6 From Joachim Blaabjerg 2002-08-13 04:32:46 0000 -------
The mask is gone, tell me if it doesn't work. Thanks again
