In /etc/contab.daily, the default system installs two files: makewhatis.cron
and slocate. Apparently, the .cron suffix is not required ... So I wonder
whether it would be a good idea to name those files constistently either with
or without that suffix?

I'm in favor of leaving it out.

So, is there any chance of makeing the cron-script naming scheme consistent?
Personally, I am in favor of using the .cron suffix consistently.
