What reason is there for a Java RUNTIME Environment to require 32MB (x2+, after
installation) of SDK docs?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

------- Comment #1 From SpanKY 2004-02-04 21:05:25 0000 -------
take doc out of your USE

------- Comment #2 From Ed Suominen 2004-02-04 21:07:15 0000 -------
It's even worse than I thought...after installation, the SDK docs take up over
200MB of hard disk space.

IMHO, it shouldn't be the default to include SDK docs for a JRE package.

------- Comment #3 From Ed Suominen 2004-02-04 21:09:11 0000 -------
The user shouldn't have to globally disables docs to avoid getting a bunch of
SDK docs that don't relate to the JRE package.

------- Comment #4 From SpanKY 2004-02-04 21:13:54 0000 -------
you dont have to do it globally, thats what /etc/portage/package.use is for

but since you seem to be so hung up on this let the java team sort it out

------- Comment #5 From Chris Aniszczyk (RETIRED) 2004-02-20 20:01:50 0000 -------
fixed
