Description Mark Tomich 2012-02-15 15:29:54 UTC
versions of libreoffice-bin after 3.4.3-r2 fail to install /etc/revdep-rebuild/50-libreoffice-bin. This causes revdep-rebuild to repeatedly re-install libreoffice-bin due to missing library dependencies.

The file is still in CVS HEAD, and is still in portage at /app-office/libreoffice-bin/files/50-libreoffice-bin, it's just not installed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge >app-office/libreoffice-bin-3.4.3-r2
2. update / break / fail to install some dynamic library dependency.
3. run revdep-rebuild
Actual Results:
revdep-rebuild re-installs libreoffice-bin

Expected Results:
revdep-rebuild should skip libreoffice-bin because it's a binary package and the dynamic library dependencies cannot be updated.

Portage 2.1.10.44 (default/linux/x86/10.0, gcc-4.5.3, glibc-2.13-r4, 2.6.35.14-106.53.amzn1.x86_64 i686)

Could you start mentioning the bug numbers in the ChangeLog messages, please?
Comment 6 Mark Tomich 2012-02-17 18:21:17 UTC
sorry, this still isn't working... I get some unexpanded variables in the file /etc/revdep-rebuild/50-libreoffice-bin...i.e., the installed file looks like:

@GENTOO_PORTAGE_EPREFIX@/usr/lib32/libreoffice
