Dunno what exactly happened but I don't have sound in .wmv files. Anyway sound was working fine some time ago. So I really don't know what or when this happened. Just to clarify, ffplayer (ffmpeg) does output sound when playing wmv files, the problem is only with mplayer. I build everything I could imagine (like faad2 and faac) but the problem didn't got fixed. mplayer2 works fine though. Here u have ffmpeg trying to open audio from .wmv file: "Opening audio decoder: [ffmpeg] FFmpeg/libavcodec audio decoders" After that he screams that there no requested codec. Anyway issue is on new mplayer it's look like he don't know how to use ffmpeg properly. Previous version mplayer-1.0_rc4_p20120109 works fine, Marios Andreopoulos is checked mplaer2 and it's also working. ps. Sorry for my eng.
There is a .wmv sound problem with media-video/mplayer-1.0_rc4_p20120128. I reverted back to mplayer-1.0_rc4_p20120109 and mplayer-1.0_rc4_p20120105 and both had sound with the ffwmav2 codec (wmv files). Both were compiled with media-video/ffmpeg-0.10. so ffmpeg doesn't appear to be the culprit. mplayer-1.0_rc4_p20120128 does not detect this codec.
