Zachary Bedell did some work getting ZFS working on Gentoo about a year ago, but since then, not much has been done with it. http://archives.gentoo.org/gentoo-genkernel/msg_3e83605b07a49e9eb793be9affd66b4e.xml sys-kernel/dracut-010-r3 was recently removed from the tree, which breaks things for anyone using it. Until Zachary Bedell's work is updated, could sys-kernel/dracut-010-r3 be reintroduced into the tree?
OK.
Done. Let me know when it is no longer needed, pls.
Zachary Bedell committed a patch to his overlay that enables the genkernel-dracut branch to use the latest version of dracut when generating a initramfs that can boot off ZFS. There is no longer any reason to keep the older version in-tree.
