Description Michael Volland 2011-12-26 12:51:59 UTC
When I tried to open a Digital Rights Management protected pdf-file the acrobat reader always crashed. This did happen only on x86/~x86 installations. This occurred because the dynamically linked acroread tried to open the nonexistent library libidn.so.11. On my amd64 installations this library was part of app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-baselibs-20110928 which was installed by pure luck.
libidn.so.11 is also part of net-dns/libidn-1.23. There isn't any dependency to one of those ebuilds.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. None of the ebuilds net-dns/libidn-1.23 / app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-baselibs-20110928 should be installed.
2. Open DRM-protected document with acrobat

Actual Results:
app-text/acroread-9.4.2 crashes.

Expected Results:
app-text/acroread-9.4.2 opens the DRM-protected document.

To actually see what is missing:
Open xterm.
$ export ACRODEBUG=1
$ acroread DRM-protectd.pdf
dlopen: libidn.so.11: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

net-dns/libidn-1.23 should have a dependency to app-text/acroread-9.4.2 which it doesn't has.

Ok... I'm going to trust you with this one here. Added to dependencies in 9.4.7.
