I guess that debug use adds those CXXFLAGS, please drop them.

Actually some of those were also applied without USE=debug. Should now be fixed in 5.2.36.

sorry, is fixed in 5.2.36, please apply your changes in version to stabilize

I won't do that because some of the flags (most notably -O0) were set unconditionally before and I want to make sure first that this was not needed to hide other problems. If this means that you don't want to mark .35 as stable then I'll withdraw the stable request until we can mark .36 stable.
