Description Hanno Böck gentoo-dev 2011-12-10 10:13:28 UTC
base-system, can we start stabilizing this? I'd like to push the new cacaert.org intermediate certificate.

Comment 4 Agostino Sarubbo gentoo-dev 2011-12-12 16:44:43 UTC
Stable for AMD64
Comment 5 Ralf Glauberman 2011-12-13 16:38:52 UTC
This ebuild does not work for me. It fails to compile because of bug 382021. According to comment 6, this bug is fixed in portage 2.1.10.14 and 2.2.0_alpha54 but neither of them is stable (at least on amd64) so >=ca-certificates-20110502-r2 should not be stable as well as they more or less depend on an unstable portage version. Please revert stabilization.

I can confirm this on my machine! Stabilizing this ebuild on amd64 is fatal for users of stable portage on amd64 :-[
Comment 7 Jeremy Olexa (darkside) (RETIRED) archtester gentoo-dev Security 2011-12-14 16:13:46 UTC
Please don't stabilize further until portage is stabilized. This is causing chaos in the wild.
Comment 8 spresse1 2011-12-15 18:30:51 UTC
Further commenting as an affected system. Latest stable portage available on amd64 is 2.1.10.14, which this package fails to emerge on. Furthermore, the patch from bug 382021 fails to apply properly, making it impossible to emerge this package on stable amd64.

I can confirm the behavior in Comment #9 on my two amd64 systems.

Comment 13 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2011-12-31 08:26:31 UTC
i've added a blocker against older versions of portage so people will be forced to upgrade their portage before attempting to update this pkg
