Description:   Opened: 2004-01-24 15:06 0000
rxtelnet needs "-b ktelnet" to work properly.

Fix: don't mangle the names of the kerberos binaries, or leave the binaries in /usr/heimdal/bin

------- Comment #1 From Aron Griffis (RETIRED) 2004-02-17 07:58:37 0000 -------
I have zero experience with heimdal or kerberos, but I'd be willing to fix this
if you can supply a more complete explanation

------- Comment #2 From Ian 2004-02-17 08:14:24 0000 -------
I thought that was what I did.

Anyhow, the ebuild mangles the names of certain Heimdal binaries, namely telnetd, ftpd, rcp, rsh, telnet, ftp, rlogin by prefixing them with a k. This gives problems with other parts of Heimdal. The obvious solution is to don't do this, as this confuses users used to the regular binary names, for example users at large universities that use kerberos.

(I can't understand why this has been done, but I'm guessing people without experience in large Kerberized sites thinking that they are doing something smart)

------- Comment #3 From Daniel Ahlberg (RETIRED) 2004-02-21 14:35:31 0000 -------
Fixed in CVS, I made a patch to the wrapperscripts that changes the predefined
binary to run.
