Description Hans de Graaff gentoo-dev Security 2011-11-20 09:06:35 UTC
I have just dropped your keywords on dev-ruby/adhearsion due to new dependencies. Please test and keyword:

=dev-ruby/method_source-0.6.7
=dev-ruby/slop-2.3.0
=dev-ruby/pry-0.9.6.2
=dev-ruby/adhearsion-1.2.3
Comment 1 Thomas Kahle (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-01-26 14:59:26 UTC
I'm sorry that this is taking too long... slop-2.3 is gone and some others have updated versions too. Can you please update the list and then x86 will be at your service immediately.
Comment 2 Hans de Graaff gentoo-dev Security 2012-01-27 07:17:16 UTC
With keywording please make sure that at least the latest versions are keyworded. The versioned list is just there as a convenience for people using scripts.

Hmm, I get test failures with pry (and also adhearsion), but it looks like I'm doing something wrong. (What is gem_original_require?)

This is a missing dependency in the ebuild. I've just fixed that for pry 0.9.7.4.

For adhearsion I get:

This is a runtime dependency that should also be pulled in for FEATURES=test.

Sorry, I don't get it. Are you implying that this is a portage problem, or is there a missing dependency that you are going to add later?

I'm just running emerge with FEATURES="test" on my virtual x86 testbox, nothing fancy.

It is a runtime dependency that is already listed in the ebuild, and it should be pulled in as a dependency automatically with FEATURES="test". Can you check whether rubigen is actually installed when you get this error?

Also note that rubigen is a bit of a nasty package since it requires itself to be installed in order to run the tests, perhaps this is causing problems?

rubigen was installed when the error occurred. I also tried installing rubigen also with FEATURES="test" (using FEATURES="test-fail-continue" to get around bug 320781 )
In any case, adhearsion fails tests as above.

WOW... I've got the same errors like Thomas but was able to sort at least one failure out (adhearison succeeds tests here now) after over three hours of "bruteforce-trying to install anything with a dependency for tests"! -really, no ruby bashing intended here!! :-)

Even if rubigen is in place with FEATURES=test i havent got open4 (for pry) and ativerecord (for adhearsion) as depency anywhere... Ok i have to admit that with all these circular deps i haven't got a clue what is really needed anyway, but these two where obviously missing for the tests... i ended up with the following addidtional keywords:
=dev-util/cucumber-1.0.6 **
=dev-ruby/gherkin-2.7.3 **
=dev-ruby/bcat-0.6.2 **
=dev-ruby/prawn-core-0.8.4-r2 **
=dev-util/cucumber-1.1.4 **
=dev-util/aruba-0.4.11 **
=dev-ruby/prawn-layout-0.8.4-r2 **

but =dev-ruby/pry-0.9.6.2 still fails for me with:

Yeah, it would be great if portage had some kind of support to break these circular test dependencies, we have a bug open for it.

Fixed by removing this version. I've just tested pry 0.9.7.4 and I get a clean test run for it.

I still get the test failures from my comment above for pry-0.9.7.4... but heck, these packages should be keyworded anyway. It's stupid to have them around unkeyworded -> x86 done.
