Description Chris Slycord 2011-10-20 21:29:50 UTC
media-video/mplayer-1.0_rc4_p20110322-r1 and media-video/mplayer2-2.0 both do not detect the installed libbluray when USE=bluray and as such build no support for it.

Current installed version of libbluray is media-libs/libbluray-0.0.1_pre20110819

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. USE="bluray" emerge mplayer
2. look at configure output

1. USE="bluray" emerge mplayer2
2. look at configure output
Actual Results:
Checking for ALSA audio ... yes (using alsa 1.0.x and alsa/asoundlib.h)
Checking for Sun audio ... no
Checking for VCD support ... yes
Checking for Blu-ray support ... no
Checking for dvdread ... yes (external)

Expected Results:
Install correctly with support for bluray

Please attach the configure.log, if you can.

From local tests on media-video/mplayer-1.0_rc4_p20110322-r1 , it seems that API changed on libbluray and so the tests no longer work:

error: too few arguments to function 'bd_get_title_info'

This is fixed upstream in SVN revision 34126

Comment 5 Chris Slycord 2011-10-29 03:14:37 UTC
Oops. That only applies for mplayer (not mplayer2). Although I assume the patch provided at the above link can be made to work with mplayer2.

Does such problem exist for you with media-video/mplayer2-2.0_p20111126 (from portage)?
Comment 10 Alexis Ballier gentoo-dev 2011-12-16 12:20:44 UTC
should be fixed in ~arch mplayer now, remains to check mplayer2
Comment 11 Nikoli 2011-12-16 16:53:34 UTC
For me media-video/mplayer2-2.0_p20111126 works fine:
$ objdump -p /usr/bin/mplayer2|grep blu
  NEEDED libbluray.so.1
