Please attach the configure.log, if you can. From local tests on media-video/mplayer-1.0_rc4_p20110322-r1 , it seems that API changed on libbluray and so the tests no longer work: error: too few arguments to function 'bd_get_title_info'

This is fixed upstream in SVN revision 34126 http://lists.mplayerhq.hu/pipermail/mplayer-cvslog/2011-September/042908.html
Oops. That only applies for mplayer (not mplayer2). Although I assume the patch provided at the above link can be made to work with mplayer2.

Does such problem exist for you with media-video/mplayer2-2.0_p20111126 (from portage)?
should be fixed in ~arch mplayer now, remains to check mplayer2
For me media-video/mplayer2-2.0_p20111126 works fine: $ objdump -p /usr/bin/mplayer2|grep blu NEEDED libbluray.so.1
(In reply to comment #11) > For me media-video/mplayer2-2.0_p20111126 works fine: > $ objdump -p /usr/bin/mplayer2|grep blu > NEEDED libbluray.so.1 closing then
