build log

cantor-4.7.2 has compiled successfully, but for some reason on my x86 the test maxima doesn't do anything, its now been sitting idle for around 5hrs.
There are several directories in temp but none contain any info. Same thing happened last night, but as I was in shutdown mode wasn't too worried,+ reconn'd
that as I would be recompiling today,I could follow up with an inspection.
The compile on my x86_64 did not have this hassle.

The mention of libspectre either not available or missing is a bit of a red herring as this is installed into the system
Comment 2 Geoff Madden 2011-10-09 07:40:11 UTC
just updated portage to 2.1.10.24, same result
Comment 3 Geoff Madden 2011-10-10 06:25:03 UTC
Also added cantor into package.use with -test ,but it still insisted on compiling the tests and running same.Consequently it just sat there doin nuttin again.

You can't switch on/off tests with package.use. This only works via the FEATURES variable.

Anyway, tests restricted for now.

Does sanity checking in 4.7.4, re-enabled.

reinstated the test feature, but too late to check cantor, not able to get system to reinstall cantor, tried pretty much all the flags mentioned in the man file, but it just attempts to run the build, decides it is already built and bails out.

FYI: emerge -1 =kde-base/cantor-4.7.4 (-1 means --oneshot, see man emerge)

Have fun :)

Ok well not so good on the x86.Been sitting at the test maxima now for more than an hour.
It would appear that it's ignoring notest statement in the ebuild.
As another note I had to remove the test feature again in the make file for the updates that came after the 4.7.4 build,on the x86 no problems on amd64.
